Can I customise my Toy-Con? What materials can I use?

Of course! Since they're made of cardboard, you can decorate your Toy-Con creations using a variety of tools, such as coloured pens, acrylic paints, stickers and decorative tape.

We recommend that you avoid using liquid glues or paints mixed with a lot of water as these may warp the cardboard, and generally apply caution when customising in order to avoid impairing the use of your Toy-Con.

Make sure you remove the Nintendo Switch console and/or Joy-Con controllers before you start customising!

Why is there an extra cardboard sheet in the kit? What can it be used for?

An extra cardboard sheet is included in every Nintendo Labo kit to help you customise your Toy-Con and invent new ways to play in Toy-Con Garage.

For example, you could use this extra sheet to make a Toy-Con like this...

This extra sheet includes a human-shaped cardboard piece and a piece for covering the console screen. You can use these extra cardboard pieces to invent new ways to play with your Toy-Con.

Can children enjoy Toy-Con Garage?

Nintendo Labo is designed so that it can be enjoyed by all users. Once your child has experienced the make, play and discover modes of Nintendo Labo, they should be able to understand the basics of Toy-Con Garage and start inventing! But it's always more fun to do it together and some children may need a little parental assistance.
