Yes, it's possible to play Nintendo DS games on Nintendo 3DS family systems. However, select Nintendo DS games that use accessories in the Game Boy Advance slot of Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite are not compatible with Nintendo 3DS family systems.
Please note that it is not possible to use Nintendo 3DS games on Nintendo DS family systems.
