The large top screen of Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL can display 3D images, bringing extra depth to visuals without the need for special glasses.
You can increase, decrease or switch off the 3D effect to find the most comfortable viewing setting using the 3D depth slider. However, 3D visuals are not recommended for children aged six and under. Access to the 3D effect can be restricted using the Parental Controls feature.
For children under the recommended age for viewing 3D content, Nintendo 2DS could be the better choice, as it cannot display 3D visuals. However, it can play all Nintendo 3DS titles in 2D mode.
