    Why Was My Nintendo Account Password Reset?

    The information in this article can help you if you received an email indicating that your Nintendo Account password was reset as a precaution.

    Important: Emails related to Nintendo Accounts are always sent from no-reply@accounts.nintendo.com. If you haven't already, please add this email address to your contacts address book and safe sender list to ensure that you receive the appropriate emails.


    As a precaution, Nintendo may reset the password for a Nintendo Account, if we noticed suspicious attempts to sign in to the Nintendo Account. If this is the case with your Nintendo Account, we will send you an email notifying you and asking you to change your password.

    You will not be able to access your Nintendo Account until the password has been changed.

    What to do

    1. Update the password for your Nintendo Account.
      • You can also use the page mentioned in the email you received to reset your password.
      • We recommend using a secure Nintendo Account password that is not used for other accounts or services.
    2. If you believe your Nintendo Account has been compromised or accessed by an unauthorised user, please follow the Nintendo Account Recovery Process.
