Nintendo Switch Stylus Does Not Respond Correctly


The Nintendo Switch touch screen does not seem to respond correctly to the Nintendo Switch stylus.


The troubleshooting steps below may help you resolve unresponsiveness issues involving the Nintendo Switch stylus.

Possible Solutions:

  • Verify you are using the Nintendo Switch stylus, model number HAC-040.

    If a different accessory is being used, such as a mobile phone stylus or a Nintendo 3DS stylus, replacing it with the Nintendo accessory model HAC-040 may resolve the problem.

  • Verify that the tip of the stylus is not dirty or damaged.

    If it is dirty, wipe it with a soft, clean cloth.

  • If you are using a screen protector, verify that it is a licensed accessory.

    If an unlicensed screen protector is being used, replacing it with a licensed one may resolve the problem.

  • Verify that the Nintendo Switch touch screen is responding correctly.
