    How to Change Nintendo Network ID Information (Email Address, Gender, Region, Etc)

    Step by step instructions on updating information associated with a Nintendo Network ID.

    Important:

    • If you need to update information associated with your Nintendo Account (the account created on Nintendo's website or on your Nintendo Switch system), click here.

    You can edit your Nintendo Network information using a Wii U console or Nintendo 3DS family system.

    Which system are you using to change your Nintendo Network information?


    1. On the Wii U Menu, select the Mii character in the upper-left corner to access your User Settings.
    2. Select "Change User Information".
    3. Enter the password associated with your Nintendo Network ID, then select "OK."
    4. Choose from the following, to view or update the information associated with the Nintendo Network account:
      • Edit Personal Information
        Update the gender, state and time zone. View the birthdate and country. These cannot be changed.
      • Change Email Address
        Update the e-mail address associated with your Nintendo Network ID.
      • Email Preference
        Opt in or out of receiving notifications via email.
      • Usage from PCs and Other Devices
        Access Nintendo Network services from a non-Nintendo device like a PC or smartphone.

    2. Select "User Information Settings".
    3. Update the gender, region, time zone, and email address as needed.
      • You can view the birthdate and country, but these cannot be changed on the system.
    4. Select "Done" to confirm.

    Situation Not Resolved:

    • The username and country cannot be changed once the Nintendo Network ID has been created. The only way to change this information is to create a new Nintendo Network ID.
    • Each Wii U console can support up to twelve Nintendo Network ID's at once - you do not need to delete your previous Nintendo Network ID in order to set up a new one.
