Game rolls, jolts or appears in pieces

The image problem occurs in all games:

In this case the Nintendo GameCube must be sent to us for repair or replacement.

The image problem only occurs in certain games:

Please check (using the game instructions) whether the corresponding game has a PAL 60 Hz mode, and if so whether your TV is able to depict image signals received in PAL 60 Hz. (You will also find detailed information on this in the FAQs on the Nintendo GameCube system under the "Information on PAL 60 Hz mode" chapter.)

The game only has a PAL 60 HZ mode

Please check whether the Hz setting on the TV matches that of the game.

If this is not successful, test the game and Nintendo GameCube on another TV that is able to depict PAL 60 Hz.

If the game still shows the same image problems - if possible - test the affected game with another Nintendo GameCube on a TV that is able to depict PAL 60 Hz.

  • If the game does not work with another Nintendo GameCube, send the Nintendo GameCube disc to us for repair or replacement.
  • If the game works with another Nintendo GameCube, send the Nintendo GameCube and the relevant game for repair or replacement.

If you do not have a PAL TV that is able to depict the game in PAL 60 Hz, please contact the Nintendo Service Centre (see Contact section for details).

The game can play both in PAL 50 Hz and PAL 60 HZ mode

Please check whether the Hz setting on the game matches that of the TV. There follows more information on setting the Hz for the relevant Nintendo GameCube games:

  • When a game that supports 50 Hz and 60 Hz is started, a selection screen is displayed. You can choose between 50 and 60 Hz.
  • For some games the selection screen is not shown when you start the game again as the GameCube "remembers" the earlier setting. You can open the selection screen at any time by holding down the B button during start up.

If this is not successful, please test whether the game works in another Nintendo GameCube (ensure that the Hz settings match on the game and TV).

  • If the game does not work with another Nintendo GameCube, send the Nintendo GameCube disc to us for repair or replacement.
  • If the game works with another Nintendo GameCube, send the Nintendo GameCube and the relevant game to us for repair or replacement.

The game does not have a PAL 60 HZ mode

If possible, connect your Nintendo GameCube to another TV to exclude a defect with the TV.

If this is not successful, if possible, test the affected game in another Nintendo GameCube.

  • If the game works with another Nintendo GameCube, send the Nintendo GameCube and the relevant game to us for repair or replacement.
  • If the game does not work with another Nintendo GameCube, send the Nintendo GameCube disc to us for repair or replacement.

NOTE:

  • We can perform repairs or replacement exclusively on games that originated directly from Nintendo.
  • You can find out which games are Nintendo titles by calling the Nintendo Service Centre (see Contact section for details).
  • Please always send your Nintendo GameCube disc in the original cover.

The exact cost of the repair can be found in the relevant repair price list, together with detailed information on the procedure for obtaining a repair.
