Broken LCD Display
If one of the screens on the Nintendo DS Lite looks as though the colour has run out of it - even when switched off - then an LCD breakage has occurred.
This malfunction can only arise from an external event, e.g. the device being dropped or subjected to impact. A breakage of this kind may also occur due to exposure of the device to excessive heat or cold, or a sudden change between extremes of temperature.
It is normally noticeable only during normal operation, in which the first signs of damage are hairline cracks appearing on the LCD screen. If the liquid crystals in the display now keep redistributing themselves during playing operation, the pressure arising will lead to breakage.
