    Forgot Nintendo Account Sign-In Info (Email Address, Password, Sign-In ID)

    You have forgotten the sign in information (e-mail address, password, or sign-in ID) associated to your Nintendo Account.


    • The ability to use a Nintendo Network ID to sign in to an existing Nintendo Account or to create a new Nintendo Account has been discontinued. We apologise for any inconvenience. If you are having difficulties signing in to your Nintendo Account and previously used a Nintendo Network ID, information is available on accessing your Nintendo Account.
    • If you have changed your preferences to allow sign in with your Sign-in ID only, you will not be able to use your e-mail address to sign in. You will need to use your Sign-in ID to log in to your account.

    What to Do:

    Have You Forgotten the Information to a Standard Nintendo Account or a Nintendo Account for a Child?

    • Make sure you are using the correct method to sign in. If you created your Nintendo Account by linking it to an existing account (such as Facebook), select the corresponding button on the sign in page to sign in via your existing account.
    • If you have not yet created a Nintendo Account, select "Create a Nintendo Account" on the sign in page, then follow the steps to create your account.
    • If your sign-in method is set to allow sign in with your Sign-in ID only and you have forgotten your Sign-in ID, it can be found in the email you received when you changed your sign in method.
    • If you do not remember the password associated to your Nintendo Account, and you created your account with:
      • Social Media Services (Twitter, Facebook, Google, Apple) - Visit the social networking site that you used to sign in to your Nintendo Account, and use their Help area for directions to update your password.
      • No other services (Nintendo Account only) - Click "Forgot your password?" on the sign in page to reset your password.
    • If you know your password, you can view the e-mail address associated to your Nintendo Account through the Profile Settings on your Nintendo Switch.
      1. On the Nintendo Switch HOME Menu, select your user icon.
      2. Select “User Settings,” then “Check Nintendo Account Settings.”
      3. Enter your password when prompted to view the e-mail associated with your Nintendo Account.
    • Your log in information can be verified and reset through your parent / guardian’s Nintendo Account.
      • To verify your Sign-In ID, have your parent / guardian log into their account and click “Family group.”
        • All associated accounts for children will appear. Have them select your account, then "Sign-in and security settings", and your Sign-in ID will appear.
      • If you have forgotten your password, have your parent / guardian reset your password through their account.
