    About My Nintendo

    What is My Nintendo?

    My Nintendo is a Nintendo Account service that connects your Nintendo experiences across multiple touchpoints, from gaming systems to computers and smart devices.

    Earn points by using apps on your smart device or buying digital or physical games for Nintendo Switch and completing various missions. These points can be redeemed for various My Nintendo rewards.

    You can also use My Nintendo Gold Points as payment towards eligible digital Nintendo Switch game and DLC purchases on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and on the Nintendo website (where available).

    How do I start using My Nintendo?

    My Nintendo is open to anyone with a Nintendo Account.

    To start using My Nintendo:

    1. Visit https://my.nintendo.com.
    2. Select "Create account" or "sign in".
    3. Create a Nintendo Account or sign in to your existing Nintendo Account.

    That's it! Once you're signed in, you can review your My Nintendo point history, check out the latest My Nintendo rewards and view active missions you can complete to earn My Nintendo Points.

    Can children under 16 participate in My Nintendo?

    A Nintendo Account is required to start using My Nintendo. As stated in the Nintendo Account Agreement, children under the age of 16 cannot create their own Nintendo Account. However, a Nintendo Account for a child under 16 (and up to age 17) can be created by a parent/guardian by adding it through the parent/guardian’s Nintendo Account. Once a Nintendo Account has been created for the child, they can participate in My Nintendo.

    Sign In/Account Creation Issues

    I can't remember my Nintendo Account sign-in information (email address, password). What should I do?

    • Make sure you are using the correct method to sign in. If you created your Nintendo Account by linking it to an existing account (such as Google or Apple), select the corresponding button on the sign-in page to sign in via your existing account.
      • If you are using a Nintendo mobile app on an iOS device (such as an iPhone or iPad), you will only be able to sign in using your Nintendo Account email address and password. If you have difficulty signing in this way, follow our steps here: Unable to Sign In to Nintendo Account on iOS Device.
    • If you have not yet created a Nintendo Account, select "Create a Nintendo Account" on the sign-in page, then follow the steps to create your account. (Note that a Nintendo Network ID can be linked to a Nintendo Account, but they are not the same thing.)
    • If you do not remember the password associated with your Nintendo Account, and you created your account with:
      • Social networks (Apple or Google) - Visit the social networking site that you used to create your Nintendo Account and follow the directions there to update your password.
      • No other services (Nintendo Account only) - Select "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in page for steps to reset your password.

    Where should I go to sign in to My Nintendo?

    To access My Nintendo, sign in via your Nintendo Account:

    1. Visit https://my.nintendo.com.
    2. Select "Sign in".
    3. Sign in to your Nintendo Account.

    Once you're signed in, you can review your My Nintendo point history, check out the latest My Nintendo rewards and view active missions you can complete to earn My Nintendo Points.

    What happens if I change the country/region setting for my Nintendo Account?

    Gold Points are only usable in countries/regions that use the same currency as the country/region where they were earned. If you change the country/region setting for your Nintendo Account, your Gold Points will remain in your Nintendo Account, but they will not be displayed and cannot be used in countries/regions with a different currency.

    What are My Nintendo Points used for?

    You can earn My Nintendo Points by completing various missions or by purchasing digital games on the official Nintendo website and Nintendo eShop, or physical games through a retailer. My Nintendo Points can be redeemed for various Nintendo-themed rewards via the My Nintendo website.

    My Nintendo Platinum Points can also be used to purchase exclusive physical rewards in My Nintendo Store, or to create custom user icons for use on your Nintendo Switch console.

    You can also use My Nintendo Gold Points as payment towards eligible digital Nintendo Switch game and DLC purchases on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and on the Nintendo website (where available).

    What kinds of My Nintendo Points are there?

    There are two kinds of My Nintendo Points: Platinum Points and Gold Points. Each type is earned in a different way and can be redeemed for different types of rewards.

    Do My Nintendo Points expire?

    Yes. Different types of points are valid for different lengths of time:

    • Gold Points are valid until the last day of the month 12 months after you earn them. (For example, points earned on 15 April 2017 would expire on 30 April 2018.)
    • Platinum Points (of all types) are valid until the last day of the month 6 months after you earn them. (For example, points earned on 15 April 2017 would expire on 31 October 2017.)

    You can see if you have any points that are about to expire via the your points page of the My Nintendo website when signed in to your Nintendo Account.

    How can I check my My Nintendo point history?

    You can check the My Nintendo Points you've earned, how you've redeemed them and what points will expire via the your points page of the My Nintendo website when signed in to your Nintendo Account.

    How do I earn My Nintendo Points?

    How do I collect My Nintendo Points after completing a mission?

    Once you've completed a mission's requirements, you may automatically receive the points for that mission. For details about completing the different types of mission, please read How to Complete a My Nintendo Mission.

    All points you earn and collect will appear on the your points page of the My Nintendo website when signed in to your Nintendo Account.

    Are My Nintendo Points shared between members of a family group?

    No, My Nintendo activity (missions, My Nintendo Points, etc.) is not shared between members of a family group. My Nintendo Points can only be viewed and redeemed by the member that earned the points.

    Can I give away or trade My Nintendo Points?

    No. My Nintendo Points cannot be transferred, sold or traded to other people.

    The number of Platinum Points I have is different between the My Nintendo website and within a smart device application. Why is that?

    Platinum Points earned through a smart device app are managed separately depending on the operating system of your device. If you use the app on an iOS device as well as an Android device, the number of Platinum Points you see within the application for each operating system will be different.

    Platinum Points are awarded based on the operating system of the device used to complete a mission. There are also times where points will be awarded to the most recently accessed device.

    The number of Platinum Points for each app that you see on the My Nintendo website is the total of these two, so please visit the My Nintendo website to view your total number of Platinum Points.

    I completed a mission on a smart device app, but I didn't receive Platinum Points. Why is that?

    Platinum Points for smart device apps are managed separately depending on the operating system of your device. If you use the app on an iOS device as well as an Android device, the number of Platinum Points you see within the application for each operating system will be different.

    The number of Platinum Points for each app that you see on the My Nintendo website is the total of these two, so please visit the My Nintendo website to view your total number of Platinum Points.

    When do daily or weekly missions reset?

    Daily missions reset each day at 00:00 (in the time zone your Nintendo Account is set to).

    Weekly missions reset each week on Monday at 00:00 (in the time zone your Nintendo Account is set to).

    Redeeming Gold Points for Games

    How do I redeem my Gold Points towards digital purchases?

    Whenever you purchase eligible digital Nintendo Switch content (on Nintendo eShop or the Nintendo website), you have the option to use your My Nintendo Gold Points towards the cost of the purchase.

    You can choose how many Gold Points you want to use and pay for the remaining balance with Nintendo eShop funds or any other payment method available on Nintendo eShop.

    How much are Gold Points worth when redeemed for digital purchases?

    My Nintendo members earn points equivalent to a percentage of the purchase amount (excluding tax and any Gold Points or discounts used). For details, please read How Much Are My Nintendo Gold Points Worth Towards Digital Purchases?

    Can I redeem Gold Points in a different country/region?

    How do I get My Nintendo rewards?

    Once you have earned the points required for a certain reward, you can redeem your points for the reward. The type and number of points required for each reward varies.

    You can also use My Nintendo Gold Points as payment towards eligible digital Nintendo Switch game and DLC purchases on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and on the Nintendo website (where available).

    My Nintendo Platinum Points can also be used to purchase exclusive physical rewards in My Nintendo Store.

    My Nintendo Platinum Points can additionally be used to create custom user icons for use on your Nintendo Switch console.

    How long are My Nintendo rewards available for?

    Rewards are available for a set period of time (some rewards may be offered repeatedly). Once that period ends, you will no longer be able to redeem your points for that reward.

    While you are signed in, you can check the reward details to see when a specific reward will expire.

    How can I check what My Nintendo rewards I've redeemed points for?

    You can check which rewards you've redeemed points for by visiting the rewards page of the My Nintendo website when signed in to your Nintendo Account.
