    About My Nintendo

    What is My Nintendo?

My Nintendo is a Nintendo Account service that connects your Nintendo experiences across multiple touchpoints, from gaming systems to computers and smart devices.

Earn points by playing apps on your smart devices or buying digital games for Nintendo Switch, Wii U or Nintendo 3DS. These points can be redeemed for various My Nintendo rewards.

You can also use My Nintendo Gold Points as payment towards eligible digital Nintendo Switch game and DLC purchases on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and on the Nintendo website (where available).

Can children under 16 participate in My Nintendo?

A Nintendo Account is required to start using My Nintendo. As stated in the Nintendo Account Agreement, children under the age of 16 cannot create their own Nintendo Account. However, a Nintendo Account for a child under 16 (and up to age 17) can be created by a parent/guardian by adding it through the parent/guardian’s Nintendo Account. Once the Nintendo Account has been created for a child, they can participate in My Nintendo.

    • Mission status, points and rewards in the My Nintendo rewards programme

For additional information and assistance, please click here.

Can I change my country of residence?

Yes, it is possible to change your country of residence.

Please read the following important information first:

    • Gold Points are only usable in countries and regions that use the same currency as the country/region where they were earned. If you change the country/region setting associated with your Nintendo Account, your Gold Points will remain in your Nintendo Account, but they will not be displayed and cannot be used in countries or regions with a different currency.
    • Your Nintendo eShop account balance does not carry over when you change your Nintendo Account country/region setting. You will need to use the remaining funds before you can change this setting. (For more information, click here.)
    • To redeem rewards for Wii U or Nintendo 3DS downloadable games or content, your Nintendo Account country/region setting must be the same as that of your Wii U console or Nintendo 3DS system.
      • For example, if your Nintendo Account is set to the United States, you can redeem points for a Wii U or Nintendo 3DS download code. This code will only work on a console or system with its country/region set to the United States. (It would not work on a console or system with its country/region set to Japan, for example.)
      • Please note that point refunds or download code exchanges will not be made if you mistakenly redeem your points for a download code for the wrong country/region.

There are many ways to earn My Nintendo Points:

    • You can earn Gold Points by purchasing eligible games and things like downloadable content. Gold Points are awarded based on the amount you pay (excluding tax and any Gold Points or discounts used). For details about earning and redeeming Gold Points, please click here.
      • To earn Gold Points for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U digital purchases, make sure to link your Nintendo Network ID (NNID) if you have one. Once your NNID is linked, you can earn Gold Points for all eligible Nintendo 3DS and Wii U digital purchases linked to your account. An NNID is not needed to earn Gold Points for Nintendo Switch digital purchases.
    • Complete missions on My Nintendo to earn Platinum Points.
      • For some missions, you will need to select Collect points to receive your points after completing the mission. These missions may also have a timeframe during which the points must be collected. If this time passes, the mission will count as being completed but the points will not be granted.
    • Redeem a My Nintendo point code. From time to time, Nintendo will distribute point codes that can be redeemed for My Nintendo Points. If you have received a point code, click here to redeem it. The points will appear on the points history page of the My Nintendo website when signed in to your Nintendo Account.

How do I collect My Nintendo Points after completing a mission?

Once you've completed a mission's requirements, you may automatically receive the points for that mission. Please note that some Platinum Point missions will require you to manually use the "Collect points" option to receive your points.

All points you earn and collect will appear on the points history page of the My Nintendo website when signed in to your Nintendo Account.

Can I give away or trade My Nintendo Points?

No. My Nintendo Points cannot be transferred, sold or traded to other people.

The number of Platinum Points I have is different between the My Nintendo website and within a smart device application. Why is that?

Platinum Points earned through a smart device app are managed separately depending on the operating system of your device. If you use the app on an iOS device as well as an Android device, the number of Platinum Points you see within the application for each operating system will be different.

Platinum Points are awarded based on the operating system of the device used to complete a mission. There are also times where points will be awarded to the most recently accessed device.

The number of Platinum Points for each app that you see on the My Nintendo website is the total of these two, so please visit the My Nintendo website to view your total number of Platinum Points.

I completed a mission on a smart device app, but I didn't receive Platinum Points. Why is that?

Platinum Points for smart device apps are managed separately depending on the operating system of your device. If you use the app on an iOS device as well as an Android device, the number of Platinum Points you see within the application for each operating system will be different.

The number of Platinum Points for each app that you see on the My Nintendo website is the total of these two, so please visit the My Nintendo website to view your total number of Platinum Points.

When do daily or weekly missions reset?

Daily missions reset each day at 00:00 (in the time zone your Nintendo Account is set to).

Weekly missions reset each week on Monday at 00:00 (in the time zone your Nintendo Account is set to).

    Redeeming Gold Points for Games

How do I redeem my Gold Points towards digital purchases?

Whenever you purchase eligible digital Nintendo Switch content (on Nintendo eShop or the Nintendo website), you have the option to use your My Nintendo Gold Points towards the cost of the purchase.

You can choose how many Gold Points you want to use and pay for the remaining balance with Nintendo eShop funds or any other payment method available in Nintendo eShop.

How much are Gold Points worth when redeemed for digital purchases?

My Nintendo members earn points equivalent to the following percentage of the purchase amount (excluding tax and any Gold Points or discounts used):

    • 5% for eligible digital software on the Nintendo website or Nintendo eShop (Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U)
    • 1% for physical purchases (Nintendo Switch)

My Nintendo Gold Points are promotional and have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash or its equivalent. They accrue at the rate of 5 Gold Points per £1.00 (€1.00) spent on eligible purchases, and can be redeemed for £0.01 (€0.01) per Gold Point towards eligible digital Nintendo Switch purchases.

For example, if you spend £50 (€50) to purchase an eligible digital Nintendo Switch game, you will accrue 250 Gold Points (5%). This equates to £2.50 (€2.50) in Gold Point value that you can apply to a future eligible purchase on the Nintendo website or in Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch.

Can Gold Points be used to purchase Nintendo 3DS or Wii U software?

However, you can continue to redeem your points for existing My Nintendo rewards for Wii U or Nintendo 3DS.

Can I redeem Gold Points in a different country/region?

Gold Points are only usable in countries or regions that use the same currency as the country/region where they were earned.
