If the display screen of Game Boy looks as if the colour is running, even if the equipment is switched off, then there is a defect in the LCD.
This can only be caused by an external force - for example, when the equipment falls or is hit on one edge. The defect can also be caused by excessive heat or cold, or quick change of extreme temperatures affecting the equipment.
In most cases the defect becomes noticeable only during normal gameplay since initially the external factors cause only hair cracks on the LCD screen. If the liquid crystal in the LCD continues to disperse during a game, the display screen will break.
This defect can only occur through the owner's own negligence. Such negligence arises if devices, accessories or games are handled incorrectly.
