Join Nintendo UK at Insomnia70, with daily tournaments in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 3 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate!

Get involved in competitive Nintendo gaming at Insomnia70, April 7th - 9th at the NEC Birmingham. Also, take part in the first qualification event for the Splatoon 3 European Championships 2023 UK & Ireland!

Attending Insomnia70 this weekend? Get into the competitive spirit with daily Nintendo Switch tournaments for Splatoon 3, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe! Sign ups will be taken on the day at the Nintendo UK VS tournament zone for all titles once doors open, with availability on a first come first serve basis. Casual play before and after tournaments will also be available.

Splatoon 3 (April 7th, 8th and 9th)

Sign up times: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM (Friday and Sunday), 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM (Saturday)

Tournament start times: 12:00 PM (Friday and Sunday), 11:30 AM (Saturday)

Squad up and ink what’s yours in our Splatoon 3 tournaments, featuring a mix of Turf War and Anarchy Battle game modes. Nintendo Switch consoles with complete loadouts and controllers will be provided at each tournament station.

For players not in full teams who attend the event and wish to compete, we will endeavour to match any squids for hire with others looking to create a team if there is space in the tournament.

Attending on Saturday? Take part in the first qualification event for the recently announced Splatoon 3 European Championships 2023 UK & Ireland! The full tournament ruleset, including stages and game modes will be provided at the event at the tournament desk.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (April 7th, 8th and 9th)

Sign up times: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM (Friday and Saturday), 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Sunday)

Tournament start times: 12:00 PM (Friday and Saturday), 3:30 PM (Sunday)

Ready to take to the track? Test yourself in our daily Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournaments! Race it out in a 150cc single elimination tournament across a variety of courses, with the top four racers from each tournament stage advancing to the next round.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (April 7th, 8th and 9th)

Sign up times: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Friday and Saturday), 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM (Sunday)

Tournament start times: 2:30 PM (Friday and Saturday), 12:00 PM (Sunday)

Battle it out in our daily Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournaments! Hone your skills in a 1v1 single elimination tournament on a range of stages, and form new rivalries along the way. A full stage list and ruleset will be available on the day. Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers will be provided, with Nintendo GameCube controllers available upon request, though availability will be limited.
