  • Mayo or Ketchup? Splatoon 2’s next Splatfest starts August 5th!

    31/07/2017

The first Splatfest since the launch of Splatoon 2 will begin on Saturday 5th August at 15:00 BST and asks: which condiment do you prefer: Mayo or Ketchup?

You can choose your side in-game right now! Simply head to the voting booth in Inkopolis Square and select your allegiance. Go on… We’ll wait.

Once you’ve picked a condiment you’ll be given a Splatfest Tee, which you’ll wear during the event – who doesn’t want Mayo or Ketchup on their t-shirt? Preparations don’t have to end there, though! You can improve the abilities of your Splatfest Tee beforehand by playing in regular Turf Wars to help you gain the edge over the weekend!

Perhaps you took part in the Splatoon 2: Splatfest World Premiere before launch and know exactly what a Splatfest is. If not, don’t worry, as we’ve got you covered. Splatfests are timed events that split players into two sides and has them battling each other in 4-on-4 matches, with each win contributing to the overall score of your chosen side.

Taking part in a Splatfest earns you a bunch of Super Sea Snails depending on how you perform, which can be used to upgrade your gear. The number of Super Sea Snails you receive depends on your Splatfest Title, which improves as you collect Splatfest Points. Members of the winning team are well rewarded, receiving even more Super Sea Snails for their efforts, which should definitely help them in future Turf Wars and Ranked Battles!

Also, during the Splatfest there will be an exclusive stage called Shifty Station added to the standard selection of stages. This stage will also be available in future Splatfests but the design will keep you on your toes by changing for each one!

The Splatfest ends at 15:00 BST on Sunday 6th August and the results will be revealed by Pearl and Marina as soon as all those wins and losses have been tallied up!

Mayo or Ketchup? Which condiment will relish the sweet taste of victory? Join the Splatfest this weekend to find out!
