In order to become a Club Nintendo member, you need to register at least one registerable Nintendo system or boxed game on the Club Nintendo website. You can find a red product registration card inside the packaging of all current Nintendo systems and many Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, Wii and Nintendo DS games – enter the printed code on the Product Registration section of the Club Nintendo and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Please note that download versions of games downloaded from Nintendo eShop cannot be registered if the Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL system used to download them is not first linked to a Club Nintendo account; as such, they cannot be used to become a Club Nintendo member. Also, some older boxed titles may no longer be registrable, as product registration codes can expire.

It is important that you allow 24 hours after linking your Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL system to your Club Nintendo account before downloading any titles from Nintendo eShop, to ensure that they are successfully registered to your account.
Providing the Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL system that you download them to is connected to your Club Nintendo account, any download versions of games downloaded fromNintendo eShop will be added to the My Registered Games and Systems section of your Club Nintendo account page. You can then visit this page and click the 'Claim Stars for this download' link to complete the registration survey as normal.
The registration survey must be completed by 11.59pm on 30 June 2013 for any eligible download version to count toward this promotion. Please also note that download versions of games downloaded from Nintendo eShop cannot be registered if the Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL system used to download them is not first linked to a Club Nintendo account. Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL bundle packs that include pre-installed versions of games come with two Club Nintendo registration codes: one for the hardware and one for the software. Registering the code for the pre-installed software, providing that software is one of the eight eligible games, counts towards the three games required to claim a free download code.
Game registrations are retroactive; any eligible game registered with Club Nintendo before the promotion was announced, including download versions, counts towards the three registrations required to claim a free download code.
Yes, you can – any of the eight games in the promotion can be chosen as your free game, even those already registered to enter the promotion.
As soon as you receive it. Codes will be sent out as soon as possible following your claim – if you have selected a game that is unavailable at time of claiming, you will receive the code shortly after the European release of that game.
You can use your free code to download your chosen game onto any Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS system with access to Nintendo eShop via an Internet connection (acceptance of the Nintendo 3DS Service User Agreement and Privacy Policy required). You cannot, however, download the same game onto multiple Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL systems.
Yes – you must redeem your free code by 11.59pm on 31st December, 2013.
You should allow up to 24 hours following the registration of your third eligible game for the promotional banner to appear on your My Account page. You should also try refreshing the website, as your browser may be displaying a cached (out-of-date) version.
