The third game in the hit Sims series arrives on Wii to place near limitless creativity at your fingertips as you fashion Sims with unique personalities then take charge of every aspect of their lives – ultimately determining whether they fulfil their destinies or watch their dreams die.

The fun starts when you create your very own Sims then place them in the peaceful town of Vista Beach. Not only will you have control over every aspect of your Sims’ appearance, it’s also up to you to give them unique personalities. Choose to make them paranoid, romantic, kleptomaniacs or a mix of something completely different by choosing from dozens of unique traits. It’s also up to you to determine the “lifetime wish” of every Sim you create. Just be careful what you make your Sims wish for though, as their overarching ambition will determine their ultimate sense of fulfilment.

In Vista Beach, the Sims you create will interact with other Sims whose lives are equally eventful. Neighbours will have children, make friends and maybe even bag a big promotion at work. Likewise, life may see your Sims meeting up with friends and sunbathing or looking for a job at the local Surf Shop. How they spend their time, the furniture in their homes and the minute details of their moods are all down to you!

Brand new for The Sims 3 is the addition of Karma Powers that can be bestowed on your Sims. These unlockable powers are earned as your Sims accumulate Lifetime Happiness points, and can be used to bring about some dramatic changes. Use the “Get Lucky” power to increase a Sim’s chance of being more successful at everything from work to fishing. Alternatively, drop a “Cosmic Curse” on a Sim of your choosing and watch as their world begins to unravel. If the latter sounds a bit harsh, you could always opt to use the less crushing but still satisfying “Epic Fail” power. With eight Karma Powers to use however you like, your control over the destiny of your Sims has never been so great!

Also adding to the overall experience of The Sims 3 is a new multiplayer mode that allows up to four players to enjoy the fun together. The Life Moments game will see you and your chums each selecting a Sim then guiding them from infancy to adulthood – betting as you go on which path your fellow players will choose for the Sim under their control in the hope of bagging rewards.
