With the Wii Remote, you can swing, lob and serve for an immersive, engaging tennis experience. You’ll play as one of 16 of your favourite SEGA characters on 10 unique courts inspired by SEGA classics, ranging from Sonic's lush Green Hill Zone to the galactic Space Channel 5 world to the chequered Super Monkey Ball world.
In all, there are three control methods you can use to play. Along with the Wii Sports style of play (where you only swing, not having to move your player), you can attach the Nunchuk controller and use the Control Stick to move your character around the court. With this control method, you’ll still swing the Wii Remote to hit the ball. For both control methods, you will hold A or B as you swing to perform lobs or drop shots.
The third control method takes the physical activity out of play. You hold the Wii Remote in the horizontal, NES position and use the +Control Pad to move and the 1 and 2 Buttons to swing. To hit special shots, you’ll press the 1 and 2 Buttons in combination with each other.
In addition to characters from the Sonic universe, you’ll also get a chance to play as such characters as NiGHTS, AiAi from Super Monkey Ball, Ulala from Space Channel 5, Amigo from Samba De Amigo and Beat from Jet Grind Radio.
Along side tournaments and exhibition matches, SEGA Superstars Tennis is filled with madcap mini-games and unlockable special events that up to four people can play. You’ll even notice special guest umpires and other cameo appearances by SEGA luminaries.
