LEGO® Harry Potter: Years 1 - 4

System: Wii Release date: 25/06/2010

Watch out Harry Potter fans!  Your favourite wizard and his friends are coming to Wii in LEGO form! If you always thought you were more magical than a mere Muggle, grab your wand (by which we mean Wii Remote) and get ready to experience the first four Harry Potter adventures like never before!

In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games bring the first four stories (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) to life in glorious LEGO style. The story begins on the front step of Privet Drive and ends with the final events of the Triwizard Tournament, stopping along the way at iconic locations such as Diagon Alley, Gringotts Wizarding Bank, the Forbidden Forest, The Burrow and the village of Hogsmeade.  Of course, it goes without saying that you'll be spending most of your time in the hallowed halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In fact, Hogwarts itself stands out as the most expansive environment in LEGO game history.

As with previous LEGO games, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 allows you to lead a small group of characters through levels and missions based on the world-renowned stories.  Not only can you play as the core characters (Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger), you can also play as pets (Scabbers, Crookshanks, etc.) or even as (gasp) villains!

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 features more than 140 playable characters and most have unique abilities.  For instance, Harry has the Invisibility Cloak and can speak Parseltongue, while Hermione has the Time-Turner and special Academic Access abilities.  You can swap between characters at the touch of a button, but it's up to you to figure out who in your party has the right skills to solve the puzzles and complete the tasks that you encounter along the way.  As you play through the story levels, you'll collect LEGO studs that act as currency to buy new characters or spells.  Use these new characters to go back and replay any level – you may find that their special skills will unlock secret areas that were previously inaccessible!

Of course, you’ll have to attend lessons at Hogwarts to learn how to cast spells such as Lumos, Immobilus and Expelliarmus.   Wingardium Leviosa, for example, allows you to levitate LEGO bricks and build in creative ways to solve puzzles.  Casting spells is easy with the Wii Remote and is certain to come in handy while exploring the game environments, solving puzzles and facing adversaries. During lessons with Professor Snape, you’ll learn how to brew potions useful in overcoming obstacles throughout the game.

If playing solo isn't your bag, the game features split-screen 'drop-in/drop-out' multiplayer where a mate can pick up a Wii Remote and jump in and play along at the drop of a wizard hat.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 conjures more magical adventure than you can imagine…
