A Winter Wonderland!

Hit the slopes and enjoy life in a winter wonderland with Family Ski. The hills and mountains of Happy Ski Resort are your own personal playground; an idyllic haven where you can strap on your skis then spend time taking in the sights, relaxing or competing in a variety of fun challenges.

With crisp, white snow covering every bit of the Happy Ski Resort mountains, all you have to do is decide which ski run is right for you! In Family Ski, there are 14 different slopes to explore - each one with its own unique sights, sounds and skiing possibilities.

And just in case the winter chill makes you feel a little lonely, Family Ski ensures you can always enjoy company on the slopes by allowing up to four people to strap on their skis and head off on a skiing adventure together!

A slope for everyone

The difficulty of each run is represented by a colour, as well as the name of an animal to help you remember your favourite spots on the mountain. Green slopes are perfect for beginners, whilst blue slopes are designed to put your skiing skills through a tougher test. If you’re feeling brave, you might want to take to a red run for some advanced downhill action or put your mettle to the test on a thrilling yellow trick course.

Enrol in Ski School

Whatever run you’re thinking of exploring, learning the basics in Ski School first is always worthwhile! Once you’ve found your feet, the possibilities offered on the slopes are virtually endless. Compete in races, accept challenges from people you meet or hop on the ski lift to discover a whole new part of your very own winter wonderland.

Ski the Wii Way

Take your skiing experience to new heights in Family Ski by getting your feet on the Wii Balance Board. With so many twists and turns to negotiate, the Wii Balance Board takes you closer to the true skiing experience by giving you the power to steer through the snow just by leaning left and right.

Sharp sections of the slope can be successfully navigated by shifting your weight entirely to the appropriate side, while the sensitivity of the Wii Balance Board means the finest of shifts in stance will ease you round the wide corners found on the more relaxing runs. An on-screen indicator makes it clear how much your balance is changing in order to help you perfect your slaloming style!

Whilst side to side movement can be controlled via the Wii Balance Board, the Wii Remote and Nunchuk act as your very own virtual ski poles, allowing you to build up speed, perform mid-air tricks or recover after nasty collisions, just by making intuitive movements.

Get ready to ski – Wii style!

Show Your Style

Whichever fun-filled corner of Happy Ski Resort you make your way to, you’ll want to make sure you stand out from the crowd.

An extensive character customisation tool means you can choose from 32 different faces and dozens of clothing combinations to kit your character out with. Pick the style of your skis, hair, outfit and accessories in preparation for your jaunt in the snow. As you complete challenges in the game, you’ll unlock new items to equip yourself with, ensuring you’re always the most stylish skier on the slopes!

And if you really want to see yourself dashing through the snow, why not play as your Mii and enjoy the feel of fresh mountain air on your face!

Share Memories

Capturing memories of your favourite places in photo form is a vital part of any trip. With so much spectacular scenery to take in around Happy Ski Resort, it’s good to know you can commit those special moments to camera for viewing later on.

By finding a photographer on the ski slopes or simply selecting to set up a shot yourself, you can photograph scenes you want to cherish forever and file them safely in your album. With 50 different poses for your character to strike, and the option of appearing alongside up to three friends you are sharing the slopes with, you’ll soon build up a varied portrait of your time on the mountains.

If that’s not enough, the opportunity to have a photographer snap you in action means all those spectacular stunts you pull off can be frozen in time too! And once you have some pics you’re truly proud of, post them on the Wii Message Board to show your friends just how much fun you’re having on the slopes of Happy Ski Resort!
