Star Wars: Bounty Hunter

System: Nintendo GameCube Release date: 07/02/2003

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...there was a Star Wars character by the name of Boba Fett.

He hardly spoke a word and quickly became a Sarlacc creature's lunch, but his small contribution to the Star Wars universe has become legendary. George Lucas rightly saw fit to feature the Fett's family history in his Star Wars prequels, and in Episode II fans were finally treated to the full story. We were introduced to Boba Fett as a child and, more importantly, his father Jango. Decked out in blue-striped Mandalorian armour, piloting the Fett's familiar ship, Slave 1, and packing some of the most fearsome weaponry in the star system, Jango was one of the highlights of Star Wars Episode II. And now he's achieved total star status, with the arrival of his own video game.

Set between the events of Episodes I and II, Star Wars Bounty Hunter gives you the chance to step into Jango's shoes and round up the scum of the universe with his unique arsenal of weapons and gadgets. Jango has been hired to track down a dangerous Dark Jedi - the leader of a mysterious cult - which would be tricky enough were it not for a figure from Jango's past, who's got other ideas.

Cue 18 levels of third-person perspective bounty-hunting as Jango travels from the sands of Tatooine to the towering cityscapes of Coruscant in pursuit of his prey, meeting many familiar (and not so familiar) characters from the Star Wars galaxy. You'll need to call on Jango's arsenal of weapons and gadgets, including the classic blaster pistols and rocket-firing backpack, plus a torch that can cut through locked doors. Handy when you forget your keys...

The game is steeped in Star Wars cinematic sequences and sound effects, courtesy of Industrial Light and Magic and Skywalker Sound. Plus, Star Wars Bounty Hunter also reveals why Jango Fett was chosen to be the template for the army of clone warriors, as seen in Star Wars Episode II, so it's a must for fans.
