Clear colourful viruses from a bottle by stacking capsules of the same colour next to or on top of them. Creating horizontal or vertical lines of four or more like-coloured pieces wipes out viruses and capsules alike, causing the contents to topple down to the bottom. Empty the bottle to win the round – but if the bottle fills right to the top, the diagnosis is “game over”!
In Dr. Mario’s stages, the capsules are straightforward, but Dr. Luigi uses L-shaped capsules instead. Plus, prepare for Touch Screen-based treatments in the returning Germ Buster mode! Hold your Nintendo 3DS family system sideways and use the stylus to drag capsules into place and eliminate viruses. Be quick and you can even clear viruses faster by moving any leftover pieces before they land. You can play customised versions of Dr. Mario, Dr. Luigi and Germ Buster stages in the Custom Clinic, which allows you to adjust the speed and difficulty, or challenge a computer player. In Dr. Mario and Dr. Luigi modes, you can also clock in for a long shift in Endless mode!
Enter the Miracle Cure Laboratory to tune up your skills in training levels and vaccinate viruses in dozens of levels. In this mode you can also earn different power-ups that help wipe out any viruses that are overstaying their welcome. Fill up the meter to earn capsules that can get rid of all the viruses of a single colour in one dose, destroy entire rows or columns or treat a whole area of the bottle at once with a targeted blast.
Duel with other doctors in local and online multiplayer modes! Put your opponent at a disadvantage or recover from a weak position by using Miracle Cure items, which can reverse the other player’s controls, increase their capsule drop speed or prevent them from rotating capsules. If you prefer an experience with less complications, you can also play without items. In online multiplayer, try to top the medical charts in online rankings while enjoying Dr. Mario and Dr. Luigi modes. In local multiplayer, either over local wireless or via Download Play, you can go up against other players in Dr. Mario, Dr. Luigi and Germ Buster modes. If you’re looking for a fellowship rather than a foe, you even play Germ Buster co-operatively in local multiplayer!
