The Tetris® 99 Grand Prix is an online competition held within the Nintendo Switch software title Tetris® 99, and is operated by Nintendo of Europe GmbH, Herriotstr. 4, 60528 Frankfurt am Main, Germany (below referred to as “Nintendo”).
The event takes place during the period of 8 March, 14:00 to 11 March, 08:00 (CET), and is available to residents of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Residents of Italy are excluded from participation in this competition, however a separate competition under the same name is held exclusively for Italy during the same period. Details of that event can be found here.
To participate in the competition, consumers need to have a Nintendo Account with a country/region setting of any country the event is available in. The Nintendo Account must have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. No distinction is made by the type of subscription, whether any type of paid subscription or free trial. Further, the consumer must use their Nintendo Account to participate in Tetris® 99 online matches during the event period. Tetris® 99 is free to download, and only available on Nintendo Switch.
Out of all participants that finish at least one match of Tetris® 99 in first position (“Tetris Maximus”) during the event, 999 can win a prize of 999 My Nintendo Gold Points each, delivered to their Nintendo Account. The number of Tetris Maximus wins achieved has no influence on the chance of winning a prize. If more than 999 participants achieve a Tetris Maximus win, winners will be determined by random draw. If less than 999 participants achieve a Tetris Maximus win within the period, the number of winners will be reduced accordingly.
Nintendo will deliver prizes within one week from the end date of the event period. Winners will be informed via email and My Nintendo notification. The email will be sent to the email address registered for their Nintendo Account. In case a winner uses a child account, the email will be sent to their family group admin instead. My Nintendo notifications can be checked by selecting the user icon and nick name in the top right corner on my.nintendo.com or the official website of Nintendo when signed in with a Nintendo Account. Winners can confirm the delivery of the Gold Points by checking the My Nintendo Point Log when signed in.
