The Tetris® 99 Grand Prix 2 is an online competition held within the Nintendo Switch software title Tetris® 99, and is operated by Nintendo of Europe GmbH, Herriotstr. 4, 60528 Frankfurt am Main, Germany (referred to below as “Nintendo”).
The event takes place between 12 April, 15:00 and 15 April, 09:00 (CEST), and is available to residents of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Residents of Italy are excluded from participation in this competition, however a separate competition under the same name is held exclusively for Italy during the same period. Details of that event can be found here.
To participate in the competition, users need to have a Nintendo Account with a country/region setting for one of the countries the event is available in. The Nintendo Account must have an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. No distinction is made between types of membership, whether they are some type of paid membership or a free trial. Furthermore, the user must use their Nintendo Account to participate in Tetris® 99 online matches during the event period. Tetris® 99 is free to download, and only available on Nintendo Switch.
Points are a game feature only available during this event.
Participants receive points after each match of Tetris® 99 they play during the event period. The amount of points awarded depends on their placing in the match and is displayed immediately after the match has ended for the participant, together with the total amount of points received during the event. Points are only earned when finishing a match normally, either by being knocked out or by placing first.
Event points earned by match placing:
Out of all participants who have earned at least 100 points in total during the event, 999 of them will be able to win a prize of 999 My Nintendo Gold Points each, delivered to their Nintendo Account. Winners will be determined by random draw. Each participant can only win a prize once.
Participants are given one draw ticket for every 100 points earned during the event, increasing their chances of winning. Accordingly, the number of tickets a participant receives will equal their total number of points divided by 100, rounded down to the next integer. Example: a participant with a total of 468 points by the end of the event will receive 4 tickets for the draw (468 / 100 = 4,68 -> 4).
Each winner is drawn from the pool of all tickets held by all participants. Once a participant has been drawn as a winner, all their tickets will be removed from the pool for further drawing.
Having participated or won in other Tetris® 99 events has no influence on the probability of winning in this event.
Nintendo will deliver prizes within one week from the end date of the event period. Winners will be informed via email and My Nintendo notification. The email will be sent to the email address registered for their Nintendo Account. In case a winner uses a child account, the email will be sent to their family group admin instead. My Nintendo notifications can be checked by selecting the user icon and nick name in the top right corner on my.nintendo.com or the official website of Nintendo when signed in with a Nintendo Account. Winners can confirm the delivery of the Gold Points by checking the My Nintendo Point Log when signed in.
