The Virtual Console enables you to play perfect recreations of classic video games on Wii including favourites from the NES, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Turbografx (PC Engine), SEGA MEGA DRIVE, SEGA MASTER SYSTEM, Commodore 64, NEOGEO and arcades.

Whether you're a nostalgia fan who wants to re-live your childhood memories or a new player keen to experience the hits of yesteryear, the Virtual Console is your ticket to gaming history.

A wide selection of Virtual Console games is available to download from the Internet via the Wii Shop Channel. Each game costs a certain amount of Wii Points (these are Nintendo Points that have been added to your Wii Shop Channel account. See Nintendo Points in the navigation above for more details).

Many Virtual Console games can be played simply by using the Wii Remote sideways but certain titles require the use of additional controls. Therefore a Classic Controller (Pro) is available that includes all buttons and analogue sticks necessary for playing any Virtual Console game. You can also use a controller for Nintendo GameCube* instead.

* Please note that newer models of the Wii console no longer have inputs for Nintendo GameCube controllers. All other controllers referenced here will still be usable on these newer models. Finding a Game
You can search for games directly in the Wii Shop Channel, but you'll find information on all of them right here on the website as well.
