The British Board of Film Classification was established in 1912. It now rates cinema films, home video, and may also rate certain video content in interactive games.
In the UK, interactive games will in most cases be rated under the PEGI system. However, some games may require a statutory rating by the British Board of Film Classification and will therefore be given a BBFC rating instead of the PEGI rating.
