Check whether the game you have selected has a memory function (you can find out by reading the game's instruction manual).

Test whether the loss of the game status from memory is a one-off occurrence, or whether it is no longer possible to save any data at all.

If it is impossible to save data even after repeated attempts and the game status is lost each time the Game Boy Advance SP is turned off, you should send the game to us for repair or replacement.
