Me and #My3DS contest winners announced
13/12/2013
During November and December, Nintendo UK held a contest called Me and #My3DS, in which we invited Nintendo 3DS owners to tell us why they love their console, in the form of a one minute long YouTube video.
The response from fans included some fantastically creative videos as well as a wealth of different reasons to love Nintendo 3DS, showing that the hardware features and games library of the system offer something for all kinds of tastes.
As part of the contest, each entrant was entered into a random prize draw to win a Nintendo 3DS XL LUIGI SPECIAL EDITION and we’re pleased to confirm that this extra special Year of Luigi console has been awarded to Abdikarim Timer, who sent in this Me and #My3DS video…
In addition to the winning entry we also wanted to draw attention to some of our favourite videos from the contest. So here are four videos that particularly impressed the team at Nintendo UK and made us smile. Each of the entrants in this video will receive £40 of Nintendo eShop credit to spend as they wish.
A Day With Me and #My3DS by Kiss My Robot
One of the earliest entries into the contest, Kiss My Robot’s video impressed us with its cheeky humour as well as a serious point at its core – Nintendo 3DS is a console this fan loves so much, he takes it everywhere.
Me and #My3DS – Amazing Experiences by Chris Alexander
Chris Alexander’s professional-looking video is a slick demonstration not only of this YouTuber’s technical wizardry but also his love of all things Nintendo – right down to some very familiar music and sound effects.
Me and #My3DS by Ryan Craddock
We received a few musical Me and #My3DS entries but Ryan’s video was by far the most impressive, featuring a catchy tune, clever lyrics and fun video scenes. This is a video we’ve found ourselves watching over and over again.
Me and #My3DS Dad and Son by Steven Pierce
Anyone who’s seen a certain series of supermarket adverts in the UK will appreciate the parody at work in this video, featuring a comparison between Nintendo 3DS and the original Donkey Kong arcade game, showing that love for Nintendo is one that spans the generations.
Congratulations to all of the winners and a massive thank you to everyone who took the time to make a video and enter the contest. If you’d like to see every qualifying entry then make sure to check the Me and #My3DS playlist on YouTube.
