  • Take your first steps to victory with all-new Pokémon™ features, on Nintendo DS

    02/03/2011

2nd March 2011 – Available from this Friday 4th March for Nintendo DS, Pokémon™ Black Version and Pokémon™ White Version will not only reveal a large variety of new Pokémon to befriend and train, but will also reveal new ways to communicate with fellow Pokémon Trainers from all over the world via the Pokémon Global Link!

Starting with your choice of Snivy, a Grass-type Pokémon, Tepig, a Fire-type Pokémon, and Oshawott, a Water-type Pokémon, players will be able to train up and evolve their chosen Pokémon into powerful new Pokémon. There are many ways to evolve Pokémon including levelling up, using certain special items, and by trading with a friend. Successfully evolve Tepig into Pignite, evolve Snivy to unleash Servine or try and evolve Oshawott into Dewott.

New to Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version are moves that create special effects when combined in battle. Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, and their evolutions can learn Grass Pledge, Fire Pledge, and Water Pledge respectively. These moves can be used simultaneously in Double Battles and Triple Battles to create powerful combined moves.

Featuring more than 150 never-before-seen Pokémon, in both Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version, you will be able to train your Pokémon with the ultimate goal of taking on the Elite Four and battling on to become the Unova Champion! Thanks to all-new connectivity features, you will be able to hone your fighting skills via the Random Matchup mode, using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

The Pokémon Global Link website, launching this spring, will give players the ability to sync their gameplay from their Nintendo DS systems to PCs via the Internet, and access customisable web-only content, befriend additional Pokémon, communicate with fellow Pokémon Trainers, earn and view Worldwide Battle Ratings and more. Pokémon Global Link offers a seamless play experience across both platforms: activities that players enjoy online will be reflected in their Nintendo DS games.  Players will log onto Pokémon Global Link using their Pokémon Trainer Club accounts, which can be easily obtained for free at www.pokemon.co.uk.

Pokémon Global Link features three main components that enhance the Pokémon video game experience online. The Pokémon Dream World features all-new ways to interact with Pokémon in a customisable web-only setting, featuring minigames that enable Pokémon and items to be transferred back into the Pokémon Black Version or Pokémon White Version video game.  The Global Battle Union allows players to keep track of their battle record against other players around the world and provides players with a Worldwide Rating. Pokémon Global Link will also house the Pokémon Global Trade Station website, launching later, giving players the ability to track Pokémon trades all over the world.

Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version offer fans and newcomers alike a completely new adventure to discover and enjoy. Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version are released this week on 4th March for Nintendo DS, so start training for the battles ahead.
