See below for a list of game software made available as part of the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Programme. Please note that the Virtual Console service games attempt to recreate as accurately as possible the original behaviour of the games when they were first released. The specifications of the software therefore differ depending on the hardware of the original software.

WarioWare, Inc™: Minigame Mania

Packed with more than 200 wacky microgames, each very simple but played at lightning-fast speed, WarioWare challenges you to complete multiple microgames in succession to clear each stage - or even share your system with a friend in two-player bonus games!

Kirby™ & The AMAZING MIRROR

In this title our powerful pink hero is split into four differently coloured copies of himself, but a quick call on Kirby’s mobile phone brings the others to his aid; together they must restore harmony to Dream Land. A fun-packed adventure awaits in the main game, while wacky minigames are the icing on this colourful cake!

The Legend of Zelda™

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link™

This direct sequel to the original The Legend of Zelda™ is famous for taking the series in a new direction, while also introducing elements that would go on to become standard in future Zelda games. In Zelda II™: The Adventure of Link™, Link is on a quest to seek the Triforce of Courage and awaken Princess Zelda from a sleeping spell placed upon her by an evil wizard.

NES Open Tournament Golf™

Tee off with Mario (and Luigi, too, in two-player mode) in this classic sporting simulation from 1992. In NES Open Tournament Golf™, choose from three international courses – UK, US and Japan – and three different game types – Stroke Play, Match Play and Tournament.

Donkey Kong Jr.™

Donkey Kong™ has finally been captured by Mario! Reverse roles and help his son Junior avoid many dangers to save the giant ape. Here is another smash hit of the early Eighties in which, for the first and only time, Mario plays the role of the "bad guy".

Balloon Fight™

Originally a hit in the arcades of the early ‘80s, NES classic Balloon Fight puts you in control of a heroic balloonist. Simply pop the balloons of your enemies before they pop yours! Falling enemies will deploy a parachute, so hit them again to knock them into the water below or into the jaws of a hungry fish. But watch out, the fish has its eyes on you, too!

Ice Climber™

Conquer treacherous mountain peaks, leap across icy chasms and swat snow-dwelling beasts – solo or with a friend – in this NES classic from 1984. Use your hammer to bash blocks from below and to defend yourself from the wildlife as you jump from floor to floor towards the summit.

Mario & Yoshi™

Mario & Yoshi™ is a fast-paced NES puzzle game in which you must mix and match falling characters and piece together eggshells to free the Yoshi trapped inside. Simply move Mario back and forth to catch the falling Goombas, Boos, Bloopers and Piranha Plants.

Wrecking Crew™

In NES classic Wrecking Crew, Mario swaps his plumber’s cap for a hard hat as he takes on the unique role of a demolition engineer! Your aim is to demolish every obstacle in each enemy-infested level, while working out the most destructive route through the networks of ladders and scaffolds.

Metroid™

Metroids – the most dangerous creatures in the galaxy – have fallen into the hands of Space Pirates! As bounty hunter Samus Aran, battle through the depths of planet Zebes to take out the pirates’ leader Mother Brain and restore peace to the galaxy.

Features of the Virtual Console NES titles (priority delivery version)

  • An electronic manual explaining game controls is included.
  • The official version* (which will be delivered at a later date) will include a full electronic manual.
  • Alternating multiplayer modes are supported in some titles, but simultaneous multiplayer modes are not.
  • The official version* (which will be delivered at a later date) will also support versus play.
  • Does not include the “Restore Point” function (which allows you to create and load restore points at any time while gameplay) usually included in the Virtual Console Game Boy and Game Boy Color games.
  • However, it does include the “VC Suspend” function (which allows you to save the game when you suspend play by pressing the HOME Button). The official version* (which will be delivered at a later date) will support the Restore Points function.
  • If your Nintendo 3DS has system software version 3.0.0-5E or higher, you may transfer these titles to another Nintendo 3DS console during a full system transfer. If you have an older system software version, please perform a system update to get the latest version available. Click here for more information on performing system updates. *Official versions of the games will be launched later for a fee, but Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors will be able to upgrade from the priority delivery version to the official version free of charge.

Features of the Virtual Console Game Boy Advance titles

  • An electronic manual is included for each title: to access this, select the software in the HOME Menu and tap "Manual".
  • Wireless functions and peripheral devices are not supported.
  • When you press the HOME Button, a simple menu is displayed, and you won’t be able to return directly to the HOME Menu.
  • Neither the “Restore Point” function nor the “VC Suspend” functions are supported.
  • If you’re playing a game that includes a save function, you can select Save, and your data will be saved when you’ve finished playing the Game Boy Advance game.
  • During gameplay, the Nintendo 3DS system will not enter Sleep Mode even if you close it.
  • SpotPass and StreetPass will not function during gameplay.
  • If your Nintendo 3DS has system software version 3.0.0-5E or higher, you may transfer these titles to another Nintendo 3DS console during a full system transfer. *Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on Nintendo 3DS in the future.
