While memories of 2009 may be fading fast, there are some aspects of the year gone by that are well worth remembering. If your summer holidays kicked off with a trip to Wuhu Island, or you spent the festive season leading Link on an incredible new quest, you know exactly what we mean.

In recognition of the pleasure they brought players last year, both Wii Sports Resort and Nintendo DS adventure The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks have been nominated for the GAME Award 2009. With the winner determined by public voting, the GAME Award 2009 forms part of the GAME British Academy Video Games Awards, which will take place in London on 19 March.

Also on the shortlist of ten games in with a chance of winning the award are three more available for Nintendo systems. The Beatles: Rock Band (Wii), FIFA 10 (Wii and DS) and Grand Theft Auto: China Town Wars (DS) join Wii Sports Resort and The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks to make up half of the final list.
