While the Iwata Asks series usually features interviews with members of Nintendo staff, this time the Nintendo President speaks to two guests who come from different companies. Tsunekazu Ishihara, President and CEO of The Pokémon Company, and Shigeki Morimoto from Game Freak sat together with Satoru Iwata to speak about the development of Pokémon HeartGold Version & Pokémon SoulSilver Version.

As the three men go back to the beginning of the franchise, the interview reveals why Mr Iwata has such a strong affinity for Pokémon. As the trio discuss the development of the series, Pokémon enthusiasts can now find out about the roots of the elusive Mew as well as how walking the family dog led to the development of the Pokéwalker accessory.
