  • Wii love Harvest Moon!

    27/08/2009

27 August 2009 – You’ll be enchanted by the heart-warming world of Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquillity when it launches across Europe on 9 October for Wii.

The much-loved Harvest Moon series published by Rising Star Games and distributed by Nintendo has now brought more than 10 years of role-playing fun to fans around the world, but this is the first Harvest Moon game made exclusively for Wii. Existing fans will immediately recognise the gameplay, which sees you charged with the task of running a successful farm in a fantasy land, getting married, sometimes having a child, and becoming friends with the townsfolk. If you are new to the series, you will soon be won over by the storyline, beautiful graphics and immersive game experience.

In Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility, the Harvest Tree, which used to be the life of Waffle Island, has weakened and died. Did it just become too old, or did people kill it? Whatever the cause, when it died, the rainbows started to disappear along with the fairy-like Harvest Sprites. Now it's your turn to save them, bring the Tree back to life and deliver prosperity to the island once again.

The game sees you beginning a new life on Waffle Island. As with previous Harvest Moon games, you must manage your farm, planting seeds to grow fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs in the spring, summer, and autumn. To be successful, you must balance the cost, selling price, number of harvests, and growth times of the various types of produce in order to pick the best product for each of the seasons. You can also go fishing and mining for extra profit, collect items to make home improvements, build personal relationships and hopefully get married - all while following the enchanting story behind the game.

The ultimate challenge is for you to manage your time. There is only a short amount of time in each game day, and you only have a set amount of energy. You have to balance time and strength by working on the farm and making friends with the people in town. If you over-exert yourself, you will lose the rest of the day, become sick, and sleep in late the next morning.

With this Wii instalment of the series, you have the option to play as both male and female characters, exploring the biggest town yet seen in a Harvest Moon game – go fishing at a variety of locations, visit the hot springs to relax and recover energy and explore a range of local shops.

The bright and colourful 3D graphics provide a visual feast, creating a lush idyll where players can experience the excitement and challenges of nurturing an expanding family, business and community.

Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility offers an endless world of discovery. It launches across Europe for Wii on 9 October 2009.
