The chequered flag is about to drop as all the excitement of the Formula One championship races onto Wii. With all the drivers, tracks and teams from the latest season present and correct, F1 2009 offers the most realistic and immersive driving experience yet seen on the console. So fasten your seatbelt as racing on Wii gets ready to go up a gear!
You'll be able to select your team and race as your favourite star, including of course current World Champion, Lewis Hamilton. Once you’ve chosen your driver, you’re all ready to hit the track. Race alongside the full complement of 20 drivers as you hug the corners and negotiate the hairpin bends on every faithfully-rendered track from the 2009 season. Enjoy the thrill of night-time racing in Singapore, tear round the streets of Monaco or check out the all-new Abu Dhabi circuit.
Formula One fanatics will be thrilled by the level of realism on offer, with all aspects of the championship painstakingly reproduced, right down to the ability to use slick tyres and the integration of KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems) into the action. But while F1 2009 offers all the challenges that an expert could hope for, beginners need not panic – there are a number of driver aids to guide you in your early forays round the track. As you gain confidence, you'll be able to switch these off until you're as close to the real thing as you can get in the comfort of your own home.
F1 2009 boasts a wealth of options for both solo and multiplayer racing. Sharpen your racing skills in single-player mode by selecting no-frills quick races or get the full thrill of a Grand Prix weekend, complete with practice sessions and qualifying. Multiplayer can be competitive, going head to head in a split-screen battle for racing supremacy, or cooperative, as you join forces to claim the championship for your team over the course of a full season. The Fair Race mode makes allowances for players’ differing abilities to give both drivers a shot at victory.
Fully compatible with the Wii Wheel accessory, F1 2009 offers an unparalleled level of realism and racing excitement. So rev up the engine and grab pole position with F1 2009 on Wii!
