Plot

It should have been a day like any other, but on this day, Raymond Bryce received that call.

The ex-marine was asked to step out from behind his desk and assist a team in thwarting a terrorist cell that had its sights on stealing a nuclear warhead.

But things went horribly wrong.

Now, the next 24 hours will be about survival, survival for Ray and survival for the human race. And he needs your help.

Wii_DisasterDayOfCrisis_25.bmp

You’ll guide Ray through a day filled with volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, earthquakes, floods and hurricanes – and a terrorist organisation with its mind on revenge and the power to wreak devastation at its fingertips.

With time ticking away, Ray will face the ghosts of his past and use every last bit of his training to stay alive.

With one catastrophe coming hot on the heels of the other, the survival of one man will be the only hope for millions more. Will you step up and survive the Day of Crisis?

Cast

A former special forces agent haunted by his past, a seismology scientist in distress and a criminal mastermind with the power to cause chaos at the touch of a button: An adventure as dramatic as Disaster: Day of Crisis deserves a cast determined to alter the course of the future - for good or bad.

Raymond Bryce

An ex-marine, Ray used to dedicate his life to saving others as part of the International Rescue Team. But with the guilt over the loss of his friend, Steve Hewitt, in the line of duty still painfully fresh, he has retreated behind a desk at the Blue Ridge Crisis Management Division in an attempt to escape his former life.

As Ray will soon find out, however, the past is not so easily evaded. When some previous employers call with a grave request, the wheels are set in motion for the most dramatic day of his life. Before the next 24 hours are out, Ray will face the full wrath of nature, wage a one-man war on a terrorist organisation and attempt to fulfil a promise made to his former colleague and dear friend.

Despite his determination to withdraw from the frontline of service and society, Raymond Bryce is about to learn the hard way that destiny has something much, much bigger in store.

Lisa Hewitt

After the death of her brother Steve, Lisa Hewitt needed someone to blame. When she didn’t hear from Steve’s partner Ray in the aftermath of the tragic incident, she decided he was the one who should be held responsible.

The assistant of a seismology professor, Lisa’s expertise in the field of natural disasters could be exploited if her knowledge fell into the wrong hands. And as the world begins to shudder under the weight of nature’s might, it turns out the wrong hands have their fingers on everything.

Colonel Haynes

Once the leader of an elite government force called SURGE, Haynes’s allegiance to the flag was shattered when he and his men were betrayed by their superiors. Now bearing a grudge against his country, Haynes will stop at nothing to have the names of all those involved in SURGE cleared of false charges and the families of soldiers lost in the line of duty awarded millions in compensation.

Major Evans

Second-in-command to Colonel Haynes, Major Evans doesn’t crave justice or money. His ultimate interests lie in experiencing the adrenalin rush he believes can only be brought about through devastation – an urge he will stop at nothing to satisfy.

Thrills!

Disaster: Day of Crisis throws you into the kind of non-stop thrills and spills you’d expect from a Hollywood blockbuster. To take you even closer to the action, the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller become your essential survival tools as you use them to outrun disasters, drive at break-neck speeds, swim to safety and even disarm bombs.

Read on to see how the power to escape nature’s wrath and take down the bad guys is in your hands.

Chases

Disaster can strike at any time, so you’d better be ready to run. If a short countdown begins on-screen, you know you’re about to face a threat you won’t be able to negate with a bullet. When Ray has to outrun danger, you’ll need to follow on-screen prompts precisely, moving the Wii Remote and Nunchuk as if your life depended on it, and occasionally pressing the B Button to lunge forward with a speed boost that might put a few precious steps between Ray and whatever catastrophe is breathing down his neck.

Rescues

With one disaster piling up on the next, it’s no surprise that some of the Blue Ridge population find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. But with his background on the International Rescue Team, Ray isn’t about to leave trapped citizens behind. Rescue missions call on you to help Ray drag people from rubble, administer CPR, save people from drowning and more. Just make sure you keep an eye on the stamina levels of whomever Ray is trying to save because when that runs out, the rescue attempt is over.

Shoot-Outs

When Ray crosses an armed adversary in the field, he’ll need to act quickly to ensure his day doesn’t end prematurely. Thanks to the Wii Remote, aiming is a simple case of pointing where you want to shoot and firing at will. And if you think Ray needs a more powerful piece in a hurry, just make a quick switch by selecting one of four weapons assigned to the Wii Remote Control Pad.
