Nintendogs puppies are back in the palm of your hand on the Nintendo 3DS system, with even cuter and more expressive puppies and, for the first time, kittens! The fun from the original Nintendogs game returns, with multiple breeds to choose from, accessories for your puppies and kittens to wear, and the ability to let your puppies and kittens train and compete in different challenges and activities.

Nintendogs + cats uses the inner camera and facial-recognition technology of the Nintendo 3DS system to enable your puppies and kittens to react to your real-life movements, mimicking your head tilts and jumping up to lick you as you lean in.

What is Nintendogs + Cats?

You'll feel like you can reach out and touch the dogs and cats on the 3D display of the Nintendo 3DS system.

There are three different editions of Nintendogs + cats, and in each edition there are nine types of puppies you can choose as your pet from the start. The colour, fur and body shape of your puppy can vary slightly, even for pets of the same type. Find that perfect pet for you!

Make progress through the game and you'll be able to keep kittens as pets too. There are three types of kittens to choose from, and you can select from a number of different fur patterns. When kittens aren't sharpening their claws, or clambering up the kitty tree house, they love to nap in cosy nooks and crannies, like bookshelves or window sills. Independently-minded, your cats will make themselves at home in your room.

A new life with a Nintendogs puppy

Start by choosing your puppy from the selection in the kennels. Each dog has its own individual character, as well as different fur colour, pattern and body shape. Find the perfect puppy for you! Progress through the game and kittens will also be available as pets.

Spend time with your kitten

Once you've made firm friends with your first puppy, you'll be able to select a kitten from the kennels. There are three types of cat available: standard, oriental and longhaired. You can also choose from a whole variety of fur patterns, including tiger stripes, leopard spots, and sharp, spiky stripes. So why not add a feline friend to your family?

Go for a walk with your pet

When you're out and about with your pet puppy, you could bump into other local dogs, get hold of pet supplies, or find other surprises awaiting you. You may even receive helpful advice on keeping your pet puppy from other dog owners in the neighbourhood. The streets will change depending on whether it's morning, evening or night, so it might be a good idea to head out for a walk at a different time from usual.

Interact with Nintendo 3DS StreetPass

StreetPass allows you to exchange pet and Mii character data with other users. You'll also be able to trade presents and 3D photos of your pets.

Take part in contests

You can compete together with your puppy in three fun contests, each of which starts with the Junior Cup. If you're successful you can go on to the more advanced stages of the contest.

Use Nintendo 3DS Camera with your pet

Select 'AR Camera' from the Supplies menu in your Diary, then look at the AR Card through your 3D Screen. Your pet puppy or kitten will appear right before your eyes on top of the card! If you've taught your pets tricks, you'll be able to get them to change their pose with a voice command. Take a real-world 3D souvenir snap of your pet with you, your family or friends!
More than 20 breeds to choose from

Each puppy and kitten has unique colouring and personality possibilities.

Breed choice depends on game version. These include French Bulldog, Toy Poodle and Golden Retriever.

Puppies and kittens come to life

Puppies and kittens look fluffier, softer and more expressive than ever in 3D.

Adorably life-like puppies and kittens react to your touch and your voice using the built-in camera, Touch Screen and microphone. The facial-recognition technologies on the Nintendo 3DS system even let puppies recognise their owners.

You can take pictures of your puppies and kittens by simply tapping the camera icon on the screen, which you can save to your album and share with your friends.

Share your experience with friends and other players

Exchange your Mii characters, puppies and kittens, and presents with other nearby players over a wireless connection (StreetPass).

Seamlessly hop online and download new game content such as new Mii characters and items such as pet accessories (SpotPass)*.

Play with your puppies and kittens in your world

With the Nintendo 3DS system's augmented-reality feature, you can watch your puppy play on your dining room table or sit in the palm of your hand.

You will be able to walk with your puppy and have your steps counted by the built-in pedometer on the Nintendo 3DS system when you have the game inserted and in Sleep Mode.

The Diary feature will keep track of your daily activities in the game. You can view other players you’ve encountered with StreetPass, view your pedometer data, etc.
