How many microgames come included with WarioWare: D.I.Y.?
WarioWare: D.I.Y. ships with over 90 games included, but you'll also be able to download more from a vast (and free!) online library (wireless broadband access required for online play), as well as trade them with your friends. A constant stream of fresh microgames will keep your game exciting and new!
Where do I go to start making my own microgames?
Head over to WarioWare Inc. to get started. There, you'll have access to the D.I.Y. ABCs class and plenty of tutorials. Penny Crygor and Wario himself will walk you through the fundamentals of creating games from scratch.
How do I add animation to my microgames?
The D.I.Y. Studio will walk you through adding animation to your games. You'll create each frame and then define the behaviour you'd like to see happen from one frame to the next by answering a series of multiple choice questions. Each object has five slots for "assembly instructions," plus one more for its starting condition. This can allow for some very complex player interaction.
What are some of the advanced programming techniques available to me?
The Super MakerMatic 21 provides simple, but powerful game development tools. By clever use of the Assembly Instruction ("AI") switches, triggers and loops, you can create some amazingly complex object behaviour. The graphic tools similarly allow for amazing graphic effects for creative and outside-the-box thinkers. For example, by making good use of the drawing and animation tools, you can simulate a three dimensional environment.
How do I pull pieces from other microgames to use in creating my own?
You can choose to Import any game, or part of a game, from your collection into the Super MakerMatic 21. From there you can examine and modify the graphics, AI, sound and other bits. This is a good way to learn tricks that were used in games you enjoyed.
How do I get to the Assembly Dojo and what can I expect there?
Once all of the game-creation tutorials are complete, the Assembly Dojo opens up. It includes a series of puzzles designed to test your knowledge of the assembly language and teach you new tricks.
