The creators of the acclaimed Boktai series for the Game Boy Advance
dare you to discover the brand-new gothic sci-fi world of Lunar Knights,
where vampires have created an artificial sky that allows them to roam
the world by day and feed on helpless humans around the clock. But the
fearsome warrior duo Lucian and Aaron are set to cause a storm that will
shake the vampire world to its undead core…
As day passes into night players will be swapping characters constantly
to make the most of their powers of energy absorption. Lucian excels at
close-up attacks with the moon by his side, while Aaron’s solar gun
shines at destroying the undead from a distance.
The duo will get assistance from a Terranial whose powerful elemental
attacks can be activated through the touch screen and the microphone,
allowing players to conjure up snowstorms and tornadoes and guide
meteors down from the sky.
Where Boktai made use of a built-in solar sensor, Lunar Knights
introduces an internal weather system on the top screen that changes in
real-time: you’ll see a clear day turning into a rainy night, which will
affect the action on the bottom screen. Rain creates puddles on the
streets below while thunderstorms help highlight hidden items. Learning
to use the weather to your warriors’ advantage will be key to turning
the vampire leaders to dust.
Once a leader of the undead is defeated he’ll be placed in a Casket
Rocket, turning the game into an intense touch screen shooter. As they
navigate the 3D space, players employ a hefty arsenal to clear their
path of enemies and transport the vampire’s corpse far enough for it to
be completely destroyed. But how far will the vampires let you go?
