Blast-off on a mission to save the galaxy in turbo-charged DS adventure
Geometry Wars: Galaxies. In the style of an old school arcade blaster,
Geometry Wars: Galaxies launches you into a high speed battle with alien
space ships as you try to save solar systems from destruction.
Your intergalactic combat will take place in 60 unique areas known as
Battle Grids. Clearing a Battle Grid of enemies will require speed and
concentration as you shoot down wave after wave of hostile life-forms
with high-powered weaponry! You’ll have some help along the way from
your Battle Drone – a flying sidekick that can be programmed to defend
you or attack everything in sight. The drone will also help you to
collect the Geom currency that appears during battle. The more Geoms you
have, the more heavy duty artillery you can attach to your Battle Drone
before entering the next grid.
Geometry Wars: Galaxies includes a number of different options for how
to control the in-game action. You can guide your ship with the +Control
Pad or opt to use the Touch Screen and Stylus. If you decide to use the
Touch Screen, you’ll also have the option of using the stylus to dictate
either the ship’s movement or where to direct your firepower. On top of
the multiple customization options, Geometry Wars: Galaxies uses other
unique features of the DS; even calling on you to blow into the
microphone in order to shake enemies that are slowing you down!
The game includes a number of multiplayer options that let you battle
with a friend or work alongside them to save the day. The wireless
capabilities of the DS also mean you can connect to the Internet via
Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and share your high scores with the world in
online leaderboards. If you own the DS and Wii versions of Geometry
Wars: Galaxies, connecting both systems wirelessly will unlock new
content – with new battle grids appearing in both versions of the game.
