Mario Tennis
Created by the same perfectionists who gave us Mario Golf, Mario Tennis 64 mixes the cartoon universe of Mushroom Kingdom with the smashing sport of tennis. Featuring Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi and a host of other Nintendo favourites, Mario Tennis is extremely easy for beginners to pick up and play, but also holds many advanced mechanics for experienced gamers to master. Simply pressing the A and B buttons is enough to return most balls. But to become a Mario Tennis master, and thwack the ball with the kind of point-winning force that will have your opponent blinking in disbelief, you'll need to master the skill of double-tapping the buttons, or holding them down to charge up a super-strong Smash Shot. The ball moves realistically, but at the same time the court flashes with blinding special effects that could outdo a laser light show. It's this satisfying mix of fantasy and physics that makes Mario Tennis one of the greatest games we've played in a long while. And if you own a Transfer Pak and Mario Tennis for Game Boy Color, you can earn new characters and mini-games by linking the two versions of Mario Tennis together!
