Q

If I don't look after my pets every day, can they become sick or die?

A

The pets in the game will not get sick or die if you fail to look after them. But if you neglect them for too long, they will get lonely, hungry and thirsty, and their fur will become dirty and unkempt. Whenever you have the time, you should give them love and attention and let them know what they mean to you.

Q

What does StreetPass mean?

A

StreetPass is the way to meet the pets and Mii characters of other Nintendogs + Cats players. Once you get to know your puppy a little, you'll be asked if you want to switch on StreetPass. Then, if you go out and about with the system powered ON or in Sleep Mode, your Nintendo 3DS system will automatically look for other Nintendo 3DS systems. If you pass by another player, your Nintendo 3DS system will exchange data with the other player automatically.
Please see the 'Interact via StreetPass!' section for more details.

Q

If I activate StreetPass, what will it let me do?

A

If you have StreetPass enabled for Nintendogs + Cats, you'll be able to exchange Mii data, comments, pet data, presents and photos of your pets with other users. Using StreetPass can also increase the types of puppy available as pets.

You can only exchange photos that have been taken in the game (except the photos taken using AR Cards).

Q

How do I activate StreetPass?

A

To activate StreetPass (if you didn't when prompted in the game), you need to go to your Diary in Nintendogs + Cats. Just follow the instructions to enable StreetPass for this game when prompted, and select Mii characters, photos, comments and presents to exchange with other users. Then simply close the system while it is still powered ON or in Sleep Mode. As your selected data is stored in the system, data can be exchanged via StreetPass even when you do not have the game inserted in your Nintendo 3DS system.

When you are near other users who have also registered Nintendogs + Cats data, this data will be automatically exchanged.

When this exchange is successfully completed, a sticker will appear in your Diary. Touch this sticker and you'll be able to see the data received from the other user.
